The objective

What this system is built to do

Positioning is won in the customer's words, not the strategy offsite. Mine win-loss and real interviews, test the message before you ship it, then roll it through every asset, and accept that the lift lags while the new story propagates.

Win positioning in the customer's words, on a quarterly rhythm. Mine win-loss in Clozd and interviews in , test the message with an ICP panel in Wynter before you ship, then roll it through every asset and measure the step-up. Not doing: repositioning in a strategy offsite with no customer evidence, or chasing day-one conversion blips on a message that lags.

How it runs

The steps your team follows

The workflow, exactly as it runs inside . It plays through step by step, or pick any node on the map.

Start
1

Gather win-loss & customer input

Quarterly
  1. Pull the quarter's closed deals (won and lost) into and run structured win-loss interviews.
  2. Mine customer interviews and sales calls in for the buyer's own language and decision criteria.
  3. Code the real reasons, look for the messaging gap hiding behind "we lost on price".
  4. Human approval, approve the synthesised input before sharpening the message.
2

Sharpen positioning & messaging

Quarterly
  1. Rewrite the positioning doc from the customer's words, not the offsite, category frame, target buyer, the differentiated claim.
  2. Draft 3–5 candidate headlines and the core value props.
  3. Decide: hold, sharpen, or reposition, name the one thing this quarter's message must do.
  4. Human approval, sign off the messaging doc before it touches any asset.
3

Roll into assets & channels

Quarterly
  1. Roll the chosen message through every asset in lockstep: site, deck, outbound, battlecards, onboarding.
  2. Update the sales talk track and competitive battlecards from the win-loss findings.
  3. Brief the team, a half-migrated message tests nothing.
  4. Set the baseline so the lag is measurable when the lift comes.
4

Test message resonance

Monthly
  1. Run a clarity + relevance test of the candidate headlines with an ICP panel in .
  2. Pick the line that scores highest on "I immediately get what this does", not the founder's favourite.
  3. A/B the panel-winner against the incumbent on the landing page.
  4. Feed the winning message back into the assets.
5

Measure & decide

Quarterly
  1. Track the step-up over weeks, landing conversion, qualified pipeline, competitive win-rate, never the day-one blip.
  2. Hold your nerve through the lag while the story propagates through assets and channels.
  3. Decide: hold the message, sharpen it, or reposition again next quarter.
  4. escalate a full reposition decision; feed the verdict back into next quarter's win-loss pull.

Testing the headline with the buyer panel lifted landing conversion

Don't ship the headline you love, ship the one the buyer panel scores highest. Message testing turns positioning from taste into evidence before a single visitor sees it.

Repositioning to the category buyer lifted qualified pipeline, after a lag

Repositioning lifts pipeline, but the effect lags, the message has to propagate through assets and channels before the market re-sorts. Hold your nerve through the flat weeks.

A win-loss program lifted competitive win-rate

You can't sharpen positioning against a competitor you're guessing about. Win-loss interviews replace the sales-team folklore with the buyer's real decision criteria, and the win usually hides in a messaging gap, not the product.
